Charles Settles Jr.
Charles Settles Jr. is a native of Jersey City, New Jersey.
He first realized that acting was a part of him in the eighth grade after performing a dramatic speech from Dr. Martin Luther King’s Letter to Birmingham Jail and winning first place.
It wasn’t until 2007 that Charles decided to embrace acting completely when he became a member of the Negro Ensemble Company’s Traveling Theatre.
The following year, Charles auditioned and was accepted as a graduate acting student at the A.R.T/MXAT and the Institute for Advanced Theatre Training at Harvard University.
His most memorable performances in graduate school include his role as all the minority characters in Christopher Durang’s comedy History of American Film and Codeswich 7 which was an original piece created by the seven black actors in the program at Harvard University.
After graduation, Charles is auditioning and continuing to hone his craft as an artist. He is presently taking classes at The Maggie Flanigan Studio.
Charles has a love for comedy, finds joy in laughter, and is excited to be a part of The Jump Off.
